How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you the person everyone turns to when there's an export problem that nobody else can solve?

    Escape is recruiting an Export Team Leader for a global manufacturing business with ambitious growth plans and a strong international customer base.

    This is an opportunity to take ownership of export operations at site level, leading a small team while ensuring products move efficiently and compliantly to customers across the world.

    You will play a key role in coordinating global shipments, managing customs and trade compliance requirements, supporting customers and driving improvements that make a real impact on the business.

    This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants the chance to influence how export processes develop as the business continues to grow.

    The role:

    Leading, coaching and developing a team of Customer Service & Export Coordinators
    Managing international customer orders from receipt through to delivery
    Ensuring compliance with global export regulations, customs requirements and shipping documentation
    Working closely with freight forwarders, customs authorities and internal stakeholders
    Supporting trade compliance, export controls and customs processes
    Resolving complex export and customer delivery issues
    Driving process improvements and efficiencies across export operations
    Supporting pricing, contracts and commercial activities where required
    Acting as a key point of contact for international customers and internal teams

    Experience and Knowledge required for the role:

    Previous experience within export, customs or international logistics
    Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs compliance and global shipping processes
    Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous
    Leadership or supervisory experience
    ERP system experience (M3 would be highly beneficial)
    Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
    A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive approach
