How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Title: Caretaker

    Contract Type: Permanent 36.25 Hours per week

    Salary: £25,422 per annum

    Grade: 2

    Reporting Office: Stretford, Manchester

    Working Location: Trafford Borough and surrounding areas

    Persona: Site Based Worker: Contractual hours to be worked from allocated site(s), with ad hoc office attendance as required

    Working Pattern: 8am to 4pm

    Closing Date: 16th June 2026 at 11pm

    Join our Caretaking Team at L&Q:

    We are looking for somebody who will enhance our high performing front line services in the role of Caretaker.

    You will be based within our Trafford area but there will be some travel to surrounding areas.

    You will work in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to maintain excellent service to our customers and colleagues.

    The role can be challenging, physically demanding, you will be delivering services in Caretaking services. Experience of a similar role would be beneficial, full training is also provided to reach the required standards.

    Your impact in the role:

    * Use practical work techniques to ensure that a high standard of service is maintained in an assigned area to support the delivery of efficient internal services.

    * Undertake routine training and monitoring to ensure continuous improvement and personal development is completed.

    * Cleaner within the caretaking industry

    * Clearing items from communal areas to storage locations

    * Manual handling and working at height

    * Use of various chemicals and mandatory PPE

    * Building and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues & customers

    * Working in a variety of teams under the direction of Driver Mentors as instructed by Planners & Line Managers

    What you'll bring:

    * Basic knowledge of tools and materials associated with property cleaning, and potentially minor grounds maintenance.

    * Problem solving

    * Working without supervision to tight deadlines

    * Working within Risk Assessments and procedures

    * Customer service skills

    * Use of mobile phone, mobile working apps and basic IT systems

    * A full UK Driving license is desirable
