How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Team Lead – Data Science (Logistics & Predictive Analytics)

Berlin, London or Amsterdam | Hybrid Working

Are you a data science leader who thrives on solving complex real-world problems at global scale?

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Team Lead, Data Science, to lead a high-performing team focused on predictive analytics, machine learning, and logistics optimisation within one of the world's largest technology-driven consumer platforms.

This is a strategic leadership role where you will shape the future of logistics intelligence, helping to optimise millions of customer deliveries through advanced predictive modelling, real-time decision-making, and large-scale machine learning solutions.

Leading a team of experienced Data Scientists, you will drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of sophisticated predictive models that directly influence customer experience, operational efficiency, courier engagement, and commercial performance across multiple international markets.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of Data Scientists across a complex international environment

    • Defining and executing the data science strategy for logistics estimation, predictive delivery models, and marketplace optimisation

    • Driving improvements to estimated delivery time accuracy and operational forecasting capabilities

    • Leading the design and implementation of real-time predictive systems and decision engines

    • Owning key operational metrics relating to supply, performance, efficiency, and customer experience

    • Conducting deep root-cause analysis on complex production model challenges and identifying scalable solutions

    • Partnering closely with Machine Learning Engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and scalability of models in production

    • Leading experimentation frameworks and large-scale A/B testing initiatives to measure business impact

    • Driving innovation in behavioural modelling, optimisation, geospatial analytics, dynamic pricing, and incentive modelling

    • Acting as a senior technical authority, ensuring models are robust, transparent, scalable, and free from unintended bias

    Candidates should demonstrate:

    • Significant experience leading and developing Data Science teams within large-scale technology, e-commerce, marketplace, logistics, or consumer-focused environments

    • Strong hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production environments

    • Advanced knowledge of predictive modelling, machine learning, experimentation, and statistical analysis

    • Experience working with large, complex datasets and real-time decision-making systems

    • Strong understanding of the full machine learning lifecycle, including model monitoring, testing, governance, and deployment

    • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences

    • Experience within logistics, routing, ETA prediction, marketplace optimisation, geospatial analytics, or related fields would be highly advantageous

    Why join?

This is a rare opportunity to lead work that directly impacts millions of users every day. You'll operate at the forefront of machine learning and predictive analytics, working alongside some of the industry's most talented data professionals while helping shape the future of global logistics and customer experience.

The organisation offers a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement are genuinely encouraged. You'll have the autonomy to influence strategy, the support to grow your team, and the scale to solve problems that few organisations can offer.
