We’re looking for a Tax Accountant to join our Financial Governance Team on a temporary basis. The Finance Team supports the RNLI through providing tax support and expertise to help the RNLI maximise its income, minimise its expenditure, and ensure it is legally compliant.

Your Role
As a Tax Accountant, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
- Review the tax processes and design and deliver improvements/efficiencies of end-to-end processes.
- Financial and data analysis and optimisation of the process for the preparation and submission of all tax and duty returns.
- Lead on the update of system requirements and documentation of tax end-to-end processes.
- Work with the Assistant Tax Manager and colleagues across Finance to ensure that the streamlined systems, processes and reporting align with all areas of Finance.
About You
You’ll be meticulous and diligent, deadline-driven and someone who likes to consistently provide a high standard of work. To be considered as the Tax Accountant, you will need:
- To have completed or be working towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or be qualified through significant experience (Essential)
- Experience of tax legislation and returns
- Demonstrable strong IT and data analysis skills and experience
- Good understanding of financial processes and controls, and process improvements
- Experience of educating both financial and non-financial staff on tax issues
- Relevant tax qualification, e.g. Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
