How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Java Developer

    📍 Location: Near Ipswich, Suffolk (4 Days Office / 1 Day Remote)
    💰 Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + Benefits

    The Opportunity

    Mploy Group is partnering with a growing software company developing innovative SaaS solutions used by organisations across the UK and internationally.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to launch their software engineering career within a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work alongside experienced developers, gain exposure to real-world projects, and develop the technical skills needed to become a successful software engineer.

    The Role

    As a Graduate Java Developer, you'll contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of modern software applications whilst learning industry best practices and gaining hands-on commercial experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop software solutions using Java and modern web technologies

    * Build new features and enhancements for a SaaS platform

    * Fix bugs and support continuous product improvements

    * Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities

    * Work closely with developers, testers and product teams

    * Contribute to technical discussions and design reviews

    * Assist with requirements analysis and solution development

    * Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code

    * Learn software engineering best practices from experienced colleagues

    * Take increasing ownership of development tasks as your skills grow

    About You

    * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline

    * Strong understanding of core Java principles

    * Passion for software development and technology

    * Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    * Good communication and teamwork abilities

    * Experience gained through university projects, placements or personal development work

    * Understanding of Agile methodologies would be beneficial

    * Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
