How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established, commercially focused construction consultancy in London is seeking an experienced Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

    The Associate Quantity Surveyor's Role

    The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will join an independent consultancy delivering strategic Quantity Surveying services across commercial and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East.

    Day to day, the Associate Quantity Surveyor will lead pre and post contract services, prepare and review cost plans, manage procurement and tender processes, and administer contracts under JCT forms. The Associate Quantity Surveyor will also oversee valuations, variations, and final accounts while chairing client and design team meetings.

    This is a key leadership role where the Associate Quantity Surveyor will manage and mentor Senior and Assistant Quantity Surveyors, support business development, and strengthen client relationships across the London construction market.

    The Associate Quantity Surveyor - Requirements

    A degree in Quantity Surveying or a RICS-accredited equivalent
    Proven experience delivering commercial or mixed-use schemes in London
    Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts
    Experience managing teams and multiple projects
    Confident client-facing and reporting skills
    MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous
