How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Intermediate Applications Engineer

    📍 Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
    💰 Salary: £32,500 - £37,500 + Pension + Healthcare + Technical Progression
    ⏰ Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

    About the Role

    We are looking for an Intermediate Applications Engineer to join our growing Engineering team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their technical and project management skills within a supportive environment. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to deliver high-quality engineering projects from order through to completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the development of technical designs, work instructions, and project documentation.
    Act as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, and customers.
    Assist in managing projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.
    Liaise with customers throughout the project lifecycle, providing technical support and updates.
    Work with manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
    Coordinate procurement requirements and project documentation.
    Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and attend customer meetings when required.
    Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and business management systems.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential:

    HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering.
    Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.
    Strong communication and organisational skills.
    Ability to interpret technical information and produce accurate documentation.
    Proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.Desirable:

    Previous experience in an Applications Engineer, Project Engineer, or Design Engineer role.
    Experience working with technical drawings and engineering documentation.
    AutoCAD experience.
    Experience supporting customer-facing engineering projects.
