How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manufacturing Engineer - Cwmbran

    In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

    The purpose of this role is to support New Product Introduction by contributing to the build, development and validation of mechanical components and assemblies. You will work closely with design engineering and operations teams to ensure new products are successfully brought into production on time, to cost and to a high quality standard.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    -Support the build and development of new product introduction (NPI) projects
    -Review and analyse product designs using 3D CAD models
    -Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on manufacturability and potential improvements
    -Build development and test articles following CAD data and instructions
    -Analyse builds, identify issues and support resolution using structured processes
    -Define and validate solutions and countermeasures for identified issues
    -Rework components to support design changes and product development
    -Check parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
    -Record assembly and disassembly timings to support cycle time definition
    -Identify the need for jigs, fixtures and tooling to ensure correct assembly
    -Generate, validate and update process work instructions
    -Support fault finding and resolution of technical issues
    -Train production operators on new assembly processes
    -Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality)
    -Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
    -Maintain 5S standards and ensure compliance with safety requirements

    Candidate skills & requirements

    -HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
    -Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering role
    -Experience working in a manufacturing or industrialisation environment
    -Strong ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD data
    -Knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles
    -Good problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
    -Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
    -Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS applications and ERP systems
