How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Friday: Early finish

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily workshop operations within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of welders and fabricators, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor with a strong fabrication and welding background looking to progress within a growing business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations
    Supervise and support a team of welders and fabricators
    Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to engineering specifications
    Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans
    Allocate workloads and monitor productivity across the shop floor
    Maintain high standards of quality control and workmanship
    Support production planning and delivery schedules
    Order, organise, and manage materials and stock levels
    Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company policies
    Assist with training and development of workshop personnel
    Liaise with management and other departments to ensure smooth operations

    Experience & Skills Required

    Previous experience in a Fabrication Supervisor or Workshop Supervisor role
    Strong fabrication and welding background within an engineering environment
    Experience with mild steel and aluminium fabrication
    Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
    Strong leadership and team management skills
    Excellent organisational and communication abilities
    Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
    Knowledge of health & safety regulations within manufacturing/workshop environments
    Forklift licence or additional engineering qualifications beneficial but not essential

    Qualifications

    Engineering or fabrication-related qualification preferred
    Welding/fabrication certifications advantageous
