How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisor – Oldbury

    Daily Supply | Secondary Schools | Flexible Hours

    Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for flexible, varied work across secondary schools in the Oldbury area? This role offers the perfect balance of independence, consistency, and day‑to‑day variety.

    📍 About the Role

    We’re seeking confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools in Oldbury on a daily supply basis. You’ll step into classrooms to supervise lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

    This role is ideal if you enjoy working in different school environments, thrive on last‑minute bookings, and want a schedule that fits around your life.

    🕒 Working Hours

    * Monday to Friday

    * 8:30am – 3:30pm

    * Full‑time or part‑time – completely flexible

    * Short‑notice bookings are common, so adaptability is key

    👤 Who We’re Looking For

    We’re looking for candidates with previous Cover Supervisor experience or strong classroom management experience within a school setting.

    You’ll be a great fit if you:

    * Have experience supervising classes or supporting teaching staff

    * Can manage behaviour confidently and professionally

    * Communicate clearly with students and staff

    * Adapt quickly to new schools and routines

    * Are dependable, punctual, and proactive

    📚 Key Responsibilities

    * Supervising classes in the absence of the teacher

    * Delivering pre‑planned work and keeping students focused

    * Managing behaviour in line with school policies

    * Building positive relationships with staff and students

    * Representing the agency professionally across multiple schools

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

    Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
