How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Structural Engineer (Pre-Chartered, Circa 3–6 Years UK experience)

    📍 Central London

    💰 £36,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)

An award-winning London-based consultancy is looking to add a Pre-Chartered Structural Engineer to its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer sitting at that “engine room” level — technically strong, hands-on, but currently lacking the structured support/ projects needed to achieve Chartership.

    The Company

Part of a busy, growing consultancy (c.24 staff), this 20-year-old practice is recognised for delivering structurally complex new-build and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on sustainability and high-quality engineering solutions.

    They work across:

    Large-scale residential developments
    Commercial and mixed-use schemes
Education, student accommodation, and high-end residential projects
The team takes a collaborative, design-led approach, building strong relationships with developers, architects, and contractors to deliver efficient, buildable solutions.

    The Opportunity

    You’ll join a high-performing, well-supported team working on:

Large RC residential schemes (including high-rise towers up to 24 storeys)
    Refurbishment and complex structural alterations
A varied project portfolio offering strong technical exposure
This is a carefully considered hire — the business is not hiring for numbers, but for long-term cultural and technical fit.

    What Makes This Role Different

Clear route to Chartership with structured mentoring
Strong training budget and development support
    Exposure to complex, high-value projects
    Collaborative environment with senior-level accessibility
Focus on quality of engineering, not just delivery speed
Exposure to site visits rather than just sitting in the office all the time
    Candidate Profile

Demonstrable UK experience in structural engineering design
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering
    Strong UK project experience (essential)
Experience in RC structures and/or refurbishment work preferred
Working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE)
Currently lacking progression, support, or mentoring in your existing role
    Package

    Up to £50k DOE
Benefits + ongoing professional development support
    Summary

Ideal role for a driven engineer who feels under-supported and wants to join a consultancy that will actively invest in their development and help them reach Chartership.

This company cant provide visa sponsorship now or in the future so please don't apply if you require this at any point
