The Opportunity
I’m currently working with a well-established and highly regarded civil and structural engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior/Principal Structural Technician into their growing London team.

The Role
As a Senior/Principal Structural Technician, you will take a lead role in the production and delivery of structural engineering drawings and BIM models across all project stages.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the production of 2D & 3D structural drawings from concept through to construction
Managing and maintaining BIM/Revit standards across projects
Reviewing and coordinating technical drawings and models across disciplines
Overseeing multiple BIM projects and supervising model production
Supporting engineers with design development and technical detailing
Mentoring and developing junior technicians
Liaising with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
Driving continuous improvement of digital processes and innovation
About You
To be considered, you should have:
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in structural engineering or a related field
Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM processes
Experience working on complex, multi-phase developments
A detailed understanding of BIM standards (including BIM Level 2)
Experience producing and reviewing detailed structural models and drawings
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across disciplines
Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
Professional membership (e.g. EngTech, IEng, IStructE) and familiarity with ISO standards would be advantageous.
