How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Panel Wirer – Defence Manufacturing
    West Midlands | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

    Also suitable for candidates with experience as an Electrical Assembler, Electrical Fitter, Control Panel Wirer, Electrical Wiring Technician or Electrical Build Technician.

    Are you an experienced Panel Wirer looking to work on highly engineered products supporting some of the UK's most advanced defence and technology programmes?

    We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturer operating within a highly regulated engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong order book, long-term stability, and opportunities for development.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for the assembly, wiring and testing of electrical control panels, cabinets and associated equipment to engineering drawings and specifications.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Panel wiring and electrical assembly work.

    * Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

    * Installation of electrical components and sub-assemblies.

    * Cable preparation, termination and routing.

    * Electrical testing and fault finding.

    * Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Panel Wirer, Electrical Fitter or Electrical Assembler.

    * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

    * Experience of panel building and electrical assembly.

    * Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

    * NVQ Level 2, City & Guilds, Military Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent electrical qualification preferred.

    Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to meet security and nationality requirements associated with UK defence projects. British Passport holders are encouraged to apply. Dual nationality may be considered subject to project requirements.
