How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Temp Contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

    Leek, Staffordshire

    06.00 - 14.00 & 14.00 - 22.00

    12 Weeks 

    We are seeking a team of proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for delivering site-wide maintenance support, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of equipment
    Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime
    Support site engineering projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities
    Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems across the production site
    Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues
    Ensure all work is carried out in line with site health, safety, and hygiene standards
    Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers

    Skills & Experience

    Time-served engineer with a recognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
    Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment
    Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
    Ability to work independently on nights and manage priorities efficiently
    Excellent understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
    Available to start at short notice and commit to the full 3-month contract
    Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
    Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
