The Company
We’re working with a highly respected, forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Sheffield — one that combines state-of-the-art facilities with serious ambition. Following significant recent investment, this company is in a strong position for growth and is now looking for an exceptional Sales Manager to help drive it forward.
This is a business with a track record of success, a culture that values its people, and the infrastructure to support a high-performing sales function.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of a team of five sales professionals and be accountable for delivering outstanding customer service, growing revenue, and winning new business. This isn’t a back-office leadership role — you’ll be hands-on, leading from the front and playing an active part in business development, account management, and securing large-scale opportunities.
The sales environment is genuinely varied. With a vast product catalogue, part of the role involves a faster, more transactional sales process — but the business also regularly tenders for significant projects, requiring a more consultative, relationship-led approach. You’ll need to be equally comfortable in both.
What You’ll Be Doing
🎯 Leading, coaching, and developing a team of five salespeople to consistently hit targets and grow professionally
🤝 Driving new business development whilst nurturing and expanding existing accounts
• Spearheading major tender opportunities and managing complex sales cycles
• Implementing meaningful KPIs that motivate your team and reflect real commercial performance — not box-ticking
• Creating a high-energy, positive sales culture where people are genuinely set up to succeed
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure customer commitments are delivered on
What We’re Looking For
• A proven sales manager with a background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similarly technical sector
• Experience leading and developing a sales team, with a track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets
• Comfortable operating across both transactional and consultative sales environments
• Strong new business instincts alongside the ability to grow and retain existing accounts
• A leader who understands that great KPIs come from a great culture — not the other way around
• Commercially sharp, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball
The Package
• £60,000 base salary
• Company car
• Generous Performance-related bonus
• A genuinely ambitious business that rewards results
If you’re ready to take on a role where you can leave your mark, build something great, and be part of a business with real momentum — we’d love to hear from you.
