How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As a leading Specialist Construction Products Recruiter, SRS Recruitment Solutions is working on behalf of a leading supplier of plant hire for the construction industry who, due to continued success, are seeking to recruit a Key Accounts Hire Controller to join their small dedicated team in Hertfordshire.

    The Opportunity

    This is a fast-paced and customer-focused position where you will play a key role in supporting major account customers with their plant hire requirements. Acting as a central point of contact, you will coordinate hire enquiries, manage quotations, liaise with internal departments, and ensure customers receive a seamless service from enquiry through to delivery.

    The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy environment, building strong customer relationships and ensuring that service levels consistently exceed expectations.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Managing incoming hire enquiries from key account customers

    * Providing product guidance and recommending suitable equipment solutions

    * Preparing accurate quotations and processing hire requests

    * Coordinating with operational teams to ensure equipment availability and timely delivery

    * Working closely with logistics, credit control, transport, and depot teams to fulfil customer requirements

    * Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

    * Monitoring customer requests and ensuring queries are resolved efficiently

    * Supporting the achievement of departmental service and profitability objectives

    * Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems

    * Visiting customer sites when required to strengthen relationships and gain a better understanding of project requirements

    Candidate Requirements

    The ideal candidate will be highly organised, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a busy commercial environment.

    Applicants should possess:

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

    * A proactive and solutions-focused approach

    * The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

    * Good IT literacy and confidence using business systems and Microsoft Office applications

    * Strong administrative and coordination skills

    * A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate across departments

    * Previous experience within plant hire, tool hire, construction support services, customer service, sales support, or hire desk environments would be advantageous
