How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner
    Location: Swindon
    Salary: £32,073 per annum
    Vacancy Type: Permanent
    Role Purpose:
The Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) will play a pivotal role in delivering responsive early intervention, person-centred care to children, young people and families across Swindon.
The Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) provides brief, evidence-based, and outcome-focused psychological interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary Children’s and Young Peoples Mental Health Service, you will conduct assessments, deliver low-intensity interventions, and support children, young people, and their families to develop practical coping skills.
The role includes close collaboration with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure care is holistic, accessible, and responsive. You will work within professional and ethical guidelines, engage in regular clinical supervision, and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

Key responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, identifying needs, and developing collaborative treatment plans tailored to each young person and their family.
You will deliver one-to-one and group interventions through face-to-face and blended approaches, with responsibility for leading parenting interventions such as the evidence-based Triple P Parenting Programme.
The role also involves monitoring progress and outcomes through routine measures, contributing to improvements in local access metrics for children and young people, and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns by providing immediate support where needed.
You will be expected to remain up to date with developments in child and adolescent mental health through ongoing training and professional development, while participating in regular supervision and peer support sessions to maintain best practice and continuous growth. In addition, you will undertake any other duties appropriate to the role to support service development and ensure high-quality care for children and young people.

    * Experience in delivering phone-based assessments or support within a health, education or social care context.
    * Knowledge of emotional wellbeing needs in children and young people.
    * Strong understanding of the local support landscape or willingness to rapidly develop this knowledge.
    * Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively, showing empathy and cultural sensitivity.
    * Ability to assess levels of need, manage risk, and provide appropriate signposting or escalation.
    * Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, ensuring accurate, evidence-based case notes.
    * Proficiency with digital systems, including client management systems and Microsoft Office.
    * Cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse needs of the community.
    * Confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider multi-disciplinary team.
