How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll fit in well with us at Medstrom, where we have excelled in the market by providing proven and well-evidenced products and services to our busy customers, helping to make a real difference to both their workload and, crucially, their patients’ outcomes.

We are looking for a Clinical Advisor to join us on a permanent full-time basis, covering hospitals within Leicester and new business accounts in Birmingham.

    The Benefits

    - Basic full-time starting salary of £37,000 - £38,000
    - Bonus potential available
    - Company car or car allowance included
    - 33 days’ annual leave entitlement
    - Contributory Pension scheme
    - Full Induction with thorough training and support from dedicated team members
    - Salary sacrifice schemes, including Cycle to Work
    - Death in Service benefit provided
    - Discounts and cashback on shopping, supermarkets and holidays as part of our rewards scheme
    - Receive a treat on your birthday
    - Be part of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) and the associated benefits of having a stake in the company

    The Role

At Medstrom, our Clinical Advisors work at the frontline of patient care, supporting hospitals to ensure the right equipment is used effectively, safely, and at the right time. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll combine clinical knowledge, training and relationship-building to make a real difference.

Taking on this engaging position, you’ll discover that we are dedicated to patient outcomes and are eager to advance clinical environments to achieve this. We work in an advisory capacity and have had huge success in helping patients access the right equipment sooner, improving comfort, mobility, and recovery outcomes.

Working with Trust Tissue Viability, Manual Handling and Therapy staff, you will provide effective training at new and existing customer sites, ensure the appropriate use of equipment, and encourage Medical Trusts to reassess patients to efficiently use specialist equipment.

    In this role, you will:

    - Work closely with the Harm Free Care team, Tissue Viability, Manual Handling, and trust staff at all levels, both clinical and non-clinical, supporting specific projects, specific patients / patient groups and specific requests
    - Support the delivery of services to hospitals within the Leicester and Birmingham areas
    - Grow rental revenue within your allocated contract(s) by identifying opportunities for new products and services that will benefit patient outcomes
    - Promote and support new technologies and encourage use
    - Support product evaluations and feedback outcomes
    - Ability to comfortably and confidently demonstrate the equipment in the portfolio and explain the key clinical benefits of each product, and calmly handle any objections
    - Take a proactive, strategic and creative approach to training supported by a solid communication plan
    - Train Trust staff on the equipment from an overview level through to an authorised trainer level with supporting documentation
    - Act as a trusted advisor and provide ongoing clinical support
    - Ensure the appropriate use of equipment and encourage reassessment of patients in order to assist the Trust in ensuring the most efficient usage of specialist equipment
    - Advise and help Trusts define protocols, police the system, and formally provide feedback on outcomes with a proposed action plan to address any issues
    - Attend formal monthly meeting with the tissue viability team and manual handling team to review tasks, objectives and timelines
    - Plan, coordinate and execute audits as required
    - Work closely with the Partnership Managers and team on the ground for the contract
    - Promote the training academy, our webinars and workshops

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday – Friday, some flexibility may be needed.

    About You

To be considered as a Clinical Advisor, you will need:

    Essential:

    - Current Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive clinical experience
    - Experience of working in wards and within an NHS environment
    - Experience of providing clinical training at various levels
    - A full, valid UK driving licence
    - Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate and engage with people at all levels
    - An organised individual with the ability to organise their own workload effectively
    - The ability to build and maintain solid, trusted relationships
    - Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel

    Desirable:

    - Previous experience working within a commercial organisation would be advantageous

Established in 2010, Medstrom has grown substantially by being patient-focused to become the organisation we are today, whilst maintaining an open culture and ethos. In 2022, Medstrom became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), unlike any other company in the industry. This allows each employee to have a vested interest in the company, where we can all contribute to and share in the company’s success. In addition to the salary and related benefits, you will join a company that has grown extensively within the last 5 years and, through our unique ownership model, is continuing to grow, whilst offering great career opportunities for those who are keen to progress.

Webrecruit and Medstrom are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.

Medstrom operates a zero-tolerance policy to any harassment, of any kind, towards our colleagues
