How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Degree‑qualified in Electrical, Controls or Automation Engineering (or equivalent).

    * Professionally registered (e.g. IEng or CEng), or working towards registration.

    * Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, inverters, safety systems and industrial control systems.

    * Proven ability to diagnose complex electrical faults and implement effective, long‑term solutions.

    * Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, sufficient to support fault‑finding and cross‑discipline collaboration

    * Experience of applying lean manufacturing principles and data‑led improvement techniques in a manufacturing environment; Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt training or equivalent experience.

    The Role:

    * The Senior Electrical Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of site electrical and control systems.

    * Working as part of the maintenance team, you will provide daily engineering support to ensure production requirements are consistently met, with a clear focus on minimising downtime and maximising plant efficiency.

    * Take ownership of the technical integrity of electrical and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, inverters, safety systems and field devices, ensuring systems are compliant with statutory requirements, site standards and recognised maintenance methods.

    * Lead the technical review and approval of electrical changes, contractor equipment, software and modifications, ensuring designs, installations and changes meet required standards and operational needs.

    * Drive the improvement and development of plant safety and control systems, contributing to increased reliability, reduced downtime and enhanced operational performance.

    * Ensure engineering documentation, asset data, calibration records, spare parts information and planned maintenance strategies are accurate, current and consistently applied.

    * Lead and support electrical and controls projects from scope definition through to implementation, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget and minimises disruption to production.

    * Actively contribute to improving plant performance by analysing trends, leading root cause investigations and ensuring breakdowns are investigated, reported and resolved in a timely and sustainable manner.

    * Support improvements in OEE, energy efficiency, reliability and cost control through data‑led decision‑making, structured problem‑solving and practical engineering solutions.

    * Participate in reliability‑focused maintenance and continuous improvement activities, contributing to the development and embedding of best‑practice engineering processes and ways of working.

    * Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and other functions to achieve shared operational and business goals, maintaining effective interfaces and contributing positively to cross‑functional relationships.

    * Attend and contribute to meetings and improvement forums, offering a senior engineering perspective, constructive challenge and practical solutions aligned to business needs.
