How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Whether you're an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to step into a senior technical leadership position or an established Senior Engineer seeking greater responsibility across reliability, safety, capital projects and asset management, this role offers long-term career development, technical challenge and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a nationally important operation.

Senior Electrical Engineer - The Role:

From electrical safety and reliability improvement through to capital project delivery and technical leadership, this varied role offers the opportunity to take ownership in areas such as:

Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of substations, transformers, motors, drives, UPS systems and control systems
Maintaining reliable power distribution to critical production and utility assets
Supporting electrical isolations, permitting activities and system re-energisation
Troubleshooting electrical power systems and control system issues
Leading electrical safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practice
Participating in audits, risk assessments, incident investigations and HAZOP reviews
Delivering reliability improvement projects for critical electrical assets
Developing preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies
Managing electrically biased CAPEX and improvement projects from concept through to commissioning
Supporting plant outages and breakdown response activities
Working closely with automation teams on PLC, HMI, SCADA and power monitoring interfaces
Providing technical leadership, mentoring and support to engineers, technicians and contractors
Maintaining engineering standards, documentation and asset management plans
Senior Electrical Engineer - What We're Looking For:

We're open to experienced Electrical Engineers ready to take the next step into senior technical leadership or established Senior Engineers looking for a new challenge within heavy industry. You could be a great fit if you have experience or interest in:

Technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams
Supporting plant operations during critical breakdown and outage situations
The following would also be beneficial:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and power monitoring systems
Experience using AutoCAD, CMMS or asset management systems
     Contractor and supplier management experience
Senior Electrical Engineer - Why Join?

Join a nationally significant manufacturing and renewable energy operation
Opportunity to lead critical electrical infrastructure and reliability projects
