How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary SEND Teacher (KS1/KS2)
    Location: Greater Manchester
    Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 per annum
    Contract: Permanent
    Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)

    About the Role

    The Education Specialists (TES) are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly supportive specialist education provision in Greater Manchester, seeking a passionate and skilled Primary SEND Teacher.

    This role offers the opportunity to work with pupils across KS1 and KS2 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), delivering personalised, engaging learning experiences that support both academic and emotional development.

    You will play a central role in creating a structured, nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated to learn—helping them build the skills and confidence needed for successful transition into the next stage of education.

    Key Responsibilities

    Teaching & Learning
    Plan, deliver, and adapt personalised lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes and individual needs
    Teach small groups and individuals using differentiated and flexible approaches
    Deliver a broad and balanced primary curriculum, including phonics, reading, writing, and maths
    Create a calm, structured classroom using consistent routines and visual supports
    Embed communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills throughout the school day
    Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with clear, measurable targetsAssessment & Progress
    Track and assess progress across academic, social, and emotional development
    Use assessment data to inform planning and next steps
    Maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCP reviews and reporting
    Work closely with parents/carers to share progress and strategiesBehaviour & Safeguarding
    Establish a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed classroom environment
    Implement consistent behaviour support and regulation strategies
    Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately
    Support pupils with emotional regulation using proactive approachesCollaboration
    Work closely with support staff to ensure consistent delivery of strategies
    Liaise with external professionals (e.g. therapists, specialists)
    Contribute to meetings, CPD, and wider school development
    Share best practice and support a collaborative team cultureWider Contribution
    Promote a positive, inclusive school ethos
    Support routines, enrichment activities, and school events
    Act as a role model for professionalism and high expectations
    Contribute to the ongoing development of SEND provision
    Person Specification

    Essential
    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Experience teaching in KS1 and/or KS2
    Strong understanding of SEND and differentiated teaching strategies
    Experience supporting pupils with a range of needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH, communication, cognition)
    Experience contributing to EHCPs and personalised learning plans
    Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
    Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive educationDesirable
    Experience in a specialist or alternative provision setting
    Training in trauma-informed or nurture-based approaches
    Knowledge of phonics and early reading interventions
    Experience working with multi-agency professionals
