How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of building maintenance activities across the estate. This includes carpentry repairs, roofing maintenance, pathway and surface repairs, minor building works, external maintenance and general estate upkeep. The role requires a practical, multi-skilled approach and would suit someone who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership of varied maintenance tasks.

    The ideal candidate will have completed an apprenticeship or hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade such as Carpentry, Roofing or Building Maintenance. You will have experience working within estates, facilities management, property maintenance or similar environments where a broad range of practical maintenance skills are required.

    The Role:

    *Days-based role working 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday
    *Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a large estate
    *Carpentry repairs including doors, fittings and building fabric
    *Roofing inspections and minor roof repairs
    *General building maintenance and external works
    *Pathway, paving and surface repairs
    *Investigating and repairing building defects
    *Supporting planned preventative maintenance activities
    *Using CAFM systems to manage and record work
    *Working closely with contractors and internal stakeholders
    *Participating in the call-out rota with additional earnings

    The Person:

    *Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade
    *Background in Carpentry, Roofing, Building Maintenance or similar
    *Experience within estates, facilities or property maintenance environments
    *Multi-skilled maintenance experience across a range of building trades
    *Able to carry out both internal and external maintenance work
    *Strong understanding of safe working practices
    *Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
    *Full UK driving licence
