How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

They require as Mechanical Project Engineer who excels at the implementation of design, procurement, and package management. You will lead the early-stage mechanical design integration with the supply chain and delivery team, translate those designs into procurement packages, and serve as the mechanical package Lead for subcontractors as the project moves from the design phase into manufacturing and site delivery, installation and commissioning. Any previous experience working on AMP 6 or AMP 7 projects would be of particular interest.

    Responsibilities
    Core Responsibilities
    1. Early-Stage Design & Integration
    • Internal & External Coordination: Lead the integration of internal mechanical design with specialist third-party supplier designs (e.g., aeration systems, pumps, various mechanical package plant, chemical dosing, inlet screening, valves, and Washwater systems)
    • Technical Design Review: Critically review P&IDs, 3D models (BIM), and general arrangement drawings and feedback comments to the 3rd party designers through the design management function, as well as managing collaborative design between 3rd party designers and supplier design functions.

    • Specification compliance: Ensure all designs meet UK water industry standards (WIMES), and specific client (STW) specifications.

    2. Design-to-Procurement Management
    • Package Definition: Translate design/datasheets into robust technical tender documents. You will ensure that mechanical specifications are precise, correct, and work closely with the commercial teams to initiate subcontract engagement and delivery.
    • Supplier Selection: Assist in the technical evaluation of subcontractor bids, identifying potential technical risks or "scope gaps" in vendor proposals before they are onboarded.

    • Long-Lead Item Management: Identify and specify critical mechanical assets early to secure manufacturing slots and protect the project programme, working closely with the PM function to manage the procurement schedule proactively.

    3. Subcontractor & Package Management
    • Technical Accountability: Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical subcontractors. You will manage their design finalisation post-award, ensuring their "as-manufactured" drawings align with the requirements of the design team.
    • Subcontract Management: Manage mechanical packages proactively, you will ensure Subcontractors work to programme and implement robust planning of works alongside the site teams, as well as monitoring the scope of works, ensuring any change from the original design are technically assured, and commercially justified under NEC3/4 contract terms.

    • Quality & FAT: Work with the MEICA team, where required to attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and quality inspections to verify that the physical mechanical assets match the approved design prior to delivery to site.
