How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an ambitious FPGA Engineer, excited by the proposition of joining one of the fastest growing companies in Europe? The business has lots of capital, pays excellent salaries and is offering major equity to joiners in 2026. They are at an exciting stage of growth and looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer to design and build the real-time systems powering their first-generation hardware.
    This is an office-based FPGA Engineer role in Central Cambridge with a clear progression path and the opportunity to carve out a niche.
    They will pay up to £140,000 + relocation and equity for the right person. That said, they are looking for the best.
    Senior FPGA Engineer requirements:
    * Minimum 10+ years commercial FPGA Engineering (Implementation, simulation, verification and test)
    * Coding in SystemVerilog or VHDL
    * FPGA external interface designs (e.g. PCIe, Aurora, Ethernet, SPI etc.)
    * Strong academic background
    * Proactive, collaborative mindset with ownership of projects
    * Resident in the UK for at least 5 years
    This is a rare chance to make an immediate impact, stay hands-on with development, and help shape the FPGA function of a company that’s scaling fast.
