How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    You will be responsible for evaluating product performance, supporting sales teams with technical expertise, conducting customer trials, and helping establish the company's products as leading solutions within the welding and abrasives sectors.

    This role offers a unique combination of hands-on technical work and customer-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working both in a practical environment and directly with customers.

    * Support the sales team during customer meetings, demonstrations, and product trials.

    * Deliver practical product demonstrations at customer sites and within the company's North West technical facility.

    * Provide technical advice and application support across the welding and abrasives portfolio.

    * Assist customers with technical queries and product-related challenges.

    * Generate technical reports and feedback to support product development and market positioning.

    * Build technical credibility with customers and help convert opportunities into long-term business relationships.

    About You

    We are looking for a motivated and technically capable individual with experience within welding, fabrication, engineering, or industrial environments.

    You may currently be working as a Product Specialist, Technical Sales Engineer, Welding Engineer, Application Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Fabrication Specialist, or similar role.

    Essential Requirements

    * Strong technical knowledge of welding consumables and industrial abrasives.

    * Experience with grinding, cutting, polishing, and related industrial products.

    * Background within welding, fabrication, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial distribution.

    * Ability to conduct practical product demonstrations and customer trials.

    * Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    Desirable Experience

    * Technical sales or customer-facing experience.

    * Product testing, comparative analysis, or quality control experience.

    * Experience supporting distributors, end users, or industrial customers.

    * Knowledge of industrial consumables and manufacturing processes.

    What's on Offer?

    * OTE £45,000 - £55,000

    * Performance-related bonus scheme

    * Company benefits package

    * Opportunity to join a rapidly growing and ambitious organisation

    * Career development and progression opportunities
