How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a highly experienced HV Engineer looking to take ownership of technical decision-making across a growing portfolio of critical energy infrastructure assets?

Do you want to act as the technical authority for high voltage systems within a business playing a key role in the UK's energy transition?

This company is a leading independent energy provider with a rapidly expanding portfolio of flexible generation, battery energy storage and renewable energy assets across the UK. Operating a diverse network of generation, storage and grid-connected infrastructure, they are helping to deliver a cleaner, more flexible and resilient power network.

As Senior HV Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for all high voltage electrical matters across the portfolio. You will be accountable for day-to-day technical decisions, operational standards, asset performance and engineering governance, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of HV systems. Working closely with operational teams, contractors, project engineers and senior stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance on maintenance, fault resolution, commissioning activities and future asset development.

The ideal candidate will have experience with HV electrical systems up to 33kV, alongside exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar, or heavy industrial environments. You will possess strong technical leadership skills and be comfortable acting as the key engineering authority within the business.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and financially secure organisation with a growing presence in the renewable and flexible energy sector, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping engineering standards, influencing operational strategy and supporting the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects.

    The Role:

Acting as the technical authority for HV systems across a portfolio of generation, BESS and renewable energy assets
Accountable for day-to-day technical decisions, operational support and engineering standards
Leading maintenance, fault-finding and performance improvement activities for HV plant up to 33kV
Supporting commissioning, energisation and integration of new energy infrastructure projects
Providing technical leadership while ensuring compliance with HV safety and regulatory requirements
    The Person:

Strong HV electrical engineering experience within BESS, renewables, power generation, utilities or heavy industry
Technical expertise in HV systems up to 33kV, including maintenance, fault finding and commissioning
Experience operating as a senior engineer, lead engineer or technical authority
Exposure to BESS, wind, solar or other grid-connected energy assets is highly desirable
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
