How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SENCO – Specialist SEND School
    Are you an experienced SENCO looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a specialist SEND setting? Do you have the knowledge, leadership skills and passion to ensure children with additional needs receive the highest quality education and support? This specialist SEND school in Gloucester is looking to appoint a dedicated SENCO to join their leadership team.

    This welcoming and well-resourced school supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.

    As SENCO, you will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, ensuring that pupils receive the support, interventions and personalised learning opportunities they need to succeed. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to maintain high standards of provision and ensure that EHCPs are effectively implemented and reviewed. This role requires a qualified teacher with previous SENCO experience or an experienced SEND practitioner who is working towards or willing to complete the National Award for SEN Coordination.

    Job Role:

    Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
    Overseeing EHCPs, annual reviews and personalised learning plans
    Supporting teachers and support staff with SEND strategies and interventions
    Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the impact of provision
    Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies
    Ensuring statutory SEND responsibilities are met
    Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion across the school
    Contributing to whole-school improvement and leadership initiativesIn Return You Will:
