About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, organised, and enthusiastic Science / Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of practical science lessons across Key Stages 3–5. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing equipment and materials, maintaining laboratories, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for science practical lessons.
* Support teachers with practical demonstrations and investigations.
* Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are stocked and organised.
* Monitor and manage chemical, biological, and physical science materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Carry out routine safety checks and risk assessment procedures.
* Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
* Ensure laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with regulations.
* Support science enrichment activities, clubs, and school events where required.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, and Science.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Previous experience working in a school, laboratory, or scientific environment.

£106.00 - £120.00 per day
