How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    They now seek a Junior Project Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) BASED IN City of London

    Role Summary

    The Junior Project Engineer plays an important supporting role in the coordination and delivery of MEP systems across construction and building services

    The role provides support to project engineers and project managers, assisting in the coordination of engineering activities and ensuring that building services elements are delivered in line with programme requirements, technical specifications and safety standards.

    Working closely with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers, the Junior Project Engineer supports the interpretation and coordination of design and construction information, helping to ensure that building services systems are effectively integrated within the construction environment.

    The role contributes to technical coordination, documentation management and site activities, supporting efficient and compliant delivery across all stages of the project lifecycle.

    The Junior Project Engineer assists in monitoring progress, supporting quality assurance and contributing to commissioning activities, ensuring installations meet required standards.

    The position supports the development of technical capability, coordination skills and project understanding, forming a foundation for progression within the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Planning & Coordination

    * Support the planning and coordination of engineering and construction activities

    * Assist in the development and implementation of project plans including scope, programme and resources

    * Monitor progress and report updates to project engineers and managers

    * Support sequencing of works and coordination with site teams

    * Identify issues and escalate to senior team members where required

    * Assist in coordinating labour, materials and equipment

    * Support communication across subcontractors and project teams

    Technical & Engineering Support

    * Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation under supervision

    * Support interpretation of design information across teams

    * Assist in identifying technical issues and coordination challenges

    * Support resolution of technical queries with guidance from senior staff

    * Develop understanding of MEP systems and construction practices

    * Assist with site inspections and technical checks

    * Support coordination across project teams

    Learning, Development & Support

    * Support senior engineers and project managers in delivery activities

    * Participate in training and development opportunities

    * Develop technical knowledge and project understanding

    * Contribute positively to team activities

    Additional Responsibilities

    * Assist with document control and record keeping,Support administrative and coordination tasks,Participate in continuous professional development

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    The Junior Project Engineer role requires developing technical knowledge, strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn, supporting effective contribution to project delivery.

    Qualifications

    * Relevant qualification or working towards qualification in engineering or construction,Apprenticeship, college or degree pathway (desirable)

    Experience

    * Some experience or exposure to construction or building services environments,Understanding of basic engineering principles,Experience through education, placements or early career roles

    Skills;Good organisational and coordination skills,Ability to interpret basic technical information,Communication skills,Willingness to learn and develop,Basic problem-solving ability
