How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Description:

    Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Role

    Location: Worsley
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience – open to higher for the right person)
    Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new permanent opportunity where you can truly make an impact from day one? We're seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in groundworks for house building projects – someone who knows the industry, understands the pace, and can hit the ground running without the need for hand-holding.

This is a key role within a growing team, based out of our Worsley office, with regular site visits to projects across the region. You’ll be joining a well-established business with a healthy pipeline of residential groundwork schemes covering drainage, roads, foundations, and 278 works.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    * Managing costs across multiple residential groundwork projects

    * Preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, take-offs, and tender packages

    * Carrying out valuations, cost forecasting, and subcontractor payments

    * Managing procurement and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers

    * Working closely with operational teams to ensure financial control from start to finish

    * Attending site meetings and liaising with clients, engineers, and project managers

    What We’re Looking For:

    * Minimum 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying – ideally with a focus on groundworks, infrastructure, or residential civil engineering

    * Proven track record of running multiple projects independently, with limited supervision

    * Strong working knowledge of current NEC/JCT contracts and commercial procedures

    * Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills

    * Someone who is motivated, reliable, and takes initiative

    * Fully office-based role with regular site visits – no hybrid or remote working

    * Able to start quickly and integrate into the team immediately

    What You’ll Get in Return:

    * Competitive salary between £40,000 and £60,000, with flexibility for highly experienced individuals

    * Long-term, stable role within a secure and growing company

    * Exposure to major residential groundwork schemes and a variety of projects

    * A solid and supportive team who value hard work and accountability
