How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A respected and growing fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Risk Assessor looking to work within a quality-driven organisation that prioritises compliance, technical excellence, and professional development.

    The successful Fire Risk Assessor will undertake a varied portfolio of assessments across commercial, residential, and retail properties, delivering high-quality fire safety advice and ensuring clients remain compliant with current legislation and industry best practice.

    The Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    The Fire Risk Assessor will be responsible for:

    Conducting Fire Risk Assessments across a diverse range of premises
    Producing clear, accurate, and technically robust fire risk reports
    Identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and recommending practical solutions
    Working in accordance with PAS 79 methodology and relevant British Standards
    Maintaining excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders
    Supporting the delivery of a professional and compliant consultancy service
    Managing workloads effectively whilst maintaining high technical standards

    The Fire Risk Assessor

    The successful Fire Risk Assessor will ideally have:

    Proven experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments
    Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation, guidance, and standards
    Excellent report writing and communication skills
    A professional and detail-focused approach to compliance
    Experience working across residential, commercial, or mixed-use portfolios
    Relevant fire safety qualifications and professional accreditations (desirable)
    Full UK driving licence
