How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

£32.00 per hour CIS (Initial) £42.5k–£58k + Package (Permanent)

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a background in domestic planned maintenance, roofing, or renewable energy installations We are seeking a proactive, site-based leader to oversee the day-to-day delivery of a major Wave 3 whole-house retrofit programme across Oxfordshire.

This position is a Temp-to-Perm career opportunity. It allows you to take immediate operational ownership of the site delivery team during an initial contract period, leading directly to a permanent staff contract with excellent long-term career stability in the booming green energy sector.

    THE TEMP-TO-PERM OPPORTUNITY

The Transition: A clear, structured pathway from an initial hourly contract rate to a permanent salary and benefits package.

Initial Contract Rate: £32.00 per hour (CIS)

Converted Permanent Salary: £42,500 – £58,000 per annum (Dependent on experience) + benefits upon conversion.

The Scale: Managing multi-measure energy efficiency upgrades (Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps, high-performance ventilation, insulation, and window/door replacements) in occupied residential properties.

    LOCATION & WORKING PATTERN

Daily Routine: You will check in at the Swindon office each morning for team alignment, spend the majority of your day out on-site managing trades across the local area, and return for a daily check-out at the end of the shift.

Travel: Site visits will span across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas, capped within a maximum ~1 hour radius. Swindon and Oxford commuting is expected.

On-Site Presence: This is a frontline, site-based role. You will be on-site most days, with allocated admin time in the office permitted as required.

THE MISSION (On-Site Delivery & Quality)

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all retrofit measures are installed safely, on time, and strictly to technical specifications, while maintaining an excellent relationship with residents in live, occupied homes.

    Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision: Oversee the daily progress of multi-trade teams and specialist subcontractors executing fabric and renewable energy installations.

Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict on-site H&S processes, conduct inductions, manage scaffolding logistics, and ensure compliance with CDM and RAMS regulations.

Resident & RLO Liaison: Partner closely with Resident Liaison Officers (RLOs) to coordinate daily access, manage site disruption sensitively, and maintain positive customer feedback.

Technical Integrity: Ensure all works strictly adhere to construction drawings and design specifications. Identify and escalate any technical variances or design conflicts directly to the Project Manager.

Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate site diaries and update internal Excel trackers daily to monitor property starts, completions, and official handovers.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION

To successfully transition to the permanent staff structure, you must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Sector Experience: Essential experience working within the Social Housing / Domestic Refurbishment sector.

Trade Knowledge: Prior experience supervising Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps, or high-volume fabric insulation upgrades (e.g., roofing/wet trades) is highly desirable, though transferable domestic housing experience is accepted.

Live Home Awareness: Proven ability to manage the logistics of working in occupied properties (managing scaffolding, site tidiness, and resident communication).

Admin & IT Literacy: Confident keeping clean site records and inputting data into standard Excel trackers.

Mobility: A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle are mandatory for travel across the site patch.

    INTERVIEW PROCESS

Streamlined Selection: A single, straightforward interview with the contract lead and Project Manager, focusing heavily on your practical, on-site delivery experience and how you handle live site scenarios.
