How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Project Manager (Retrofit) | Swindon / Oxfordshire | Temp-to-Perm Career Opportunity

Social Housing – Wave 3 Whole-House Retrofit Programme

    £350 –£410 p/d CIS (Initial) £63k–£75k + Executive Benefits (Permanent)

Are you an ambitious Project Manager seeking a structured path into a secure, long-term permanent leadership role We are urgently seeking a dedicated Retrofit Project Manager to lead a major Wave 3 whole-house retrofit programme across Oxfordshire.

This position is explicitly offered on a Temp-to-Perm basis. It is designed to give you immediate operational ownership of a massive sustainability framework during an initial temporary period, leading directly to a permanent contract with a clear trajectory within our expanding green energy division.

    THE TEMP-TO-PERM OPPORTUNITY

The Transition: A clear, structured pathway from an initial day rate to a permanent contract and salary package.

Initial Contract Rate: £350 – £410 per day (CIS / Dependent on payroll setup)

Converted Permanent Salary: £63,000 – £75,000 per annum + a comprehensive benefits package upon conversion.

The Scale: Immediate autonomy over a high-profile decarbonisation scheme covering an initial stock list of 500–800 properties—providing massive long-term job security.

    LOCATION & WORKING PATTERN

Base Location: Initially office-based in Swindon for approximately 6 months to embed with the team, transitioning to an Oxfordshire office once localised property lists are finalised.

Site Commute: Site travel across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas, capped at a maximum of ~1 hour each way from your home base.

Flexibility: Regular office and site attendance is required to manage delivery teams, with allocated remote admin days for focused tracker and reporting work.

    THE MISSION (End-to-End Delivery)

As our Project Manager, you will use the temporary contract period to successfully establish, streamline, and scale the Wave 3 delivery programme. You will manage high-volume monthly planning targets—including ~40 Solar PV installs, ~20 Air Source Heat Pump installs, and ~40 advanced ventilation installs, alongside fabric insulation, windows, and doors.

    Key Responsibilities:

Programme Governance: Take complete operational ownership of the whole-house retrofit scheme, driving multi-trade delivery to meet weekly and monthly property completion targets.

Commercial Control: Monitor multi-million pound budgets, track live costs, flag variances, and feed directly into cost control and forecasting reports.

Design & Engineering Review: Interpret and challenge architectural drawings and scope documents to ensure the correct energy-efficiency measures are executed per property.

Resource & Software Scheduling: Sequence works seamlessly across multiple specialist subcontractors using Excel and Asta Powerproject trackers.

Team Leadership: Manage on-site teams, including Site Managers and Resident Liaison Officers (RLOs), while leading recruitment and onboarding as the local delivery team expands.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for client director-level escalations.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION

To successfully transition to the permanent staff structure, you must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

Sector Experience: A proven background in domestic Whole-House Retrofit, Renewables, or high-volume Planned Maintenance schemes (e.g., roofing, external wall insulation, green energy installations).

Commercial Acumen: Strong financial literacy with experience tracking project costs against a fixed master budget.

Technical Literacy: The ability to read construction drawings and confidently discuss design intent with architects and clients.

Software Skills: High proficiency in utilising heavy Excel trackers for live data management; familiarity with Asta Powerproject is highly advantageous.

Mobility: A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle are mandatory for travel across the property patch.
