How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established engineering business is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development and delivery of technically complex engineered systems and equipment.

    This is a hands-on engineering role that would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, performing engineering calculations and working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting projects from concept through to delivery, providing technical expertise across mechanical design, analysis, documentation and problem solving.

    The Role

    * Provide mechanical engineering support across a range of complex engineering projects

    * Act as a key technical point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders

    * Produce and review engineering calculations, technical documentation and reports

    * Support the development and improvement of engineered products and systems

    * Work closely with design, manufacturing and operational teams to ensure engineering requirements are achieved

    * Identify, investigate and resolve technical and engineering challenges

    * Assist with the preparation of technical procedures, proposals and engineering documentation

    * Participate in project and customer meetings when required

    * Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and procedures

    About You

    You could come from a variety of sectors including heavy engineering, industrial equipment, manufacturing, energy, subsea, process industries, rotating equipment or other mechanically focused engineering environments.

    You will likely have:

    * Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

    * Experience within a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer position

    * Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles

    * Experience producing engineering calculations and technical reports

    * Experience using 3D CAD software

    * The ability to solve complex engineering problems using first-principles engineering approaches

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams

    * A proactive and practical approach to engineering challenges
