How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Teacher
    Bourne End, Buckinghamshire
    September Start | MPS/UPS

    Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and well-regarded secondary school in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher for a September start.

    This role is ideal for a Maths specialist who is enthusiastic about numeracy, confident delivering engaging and structured lessons, and committed to helping pupils develop strong mathematical understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

    The Role

    As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring pupils and supporting progress in all areas of mathematics.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons in line with the National Curriculum
    Teaching key topics such as algebra, geometry, statistics, and number
    Preparing students for assessments and GCSE Maths
    Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
    Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
    Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
    Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
    Working collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school staff
    Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (KS3 and/or KS4)
    (ECTs welcome with relevant Maths teaching placements)
    Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
    Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
    An engaging, enthusiastic, and supportive teaching style
    Availability to start in September
    Ability to commute to Bourne End, Buckinghamshire
