How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Shift Engineer to work a popular Continental Shift Pattern on a high end modern Commercial Building in London WC1 near Holburn / Farringdon. OTE £65k+ easily achievable

    Our client is a leading Technical services provider who specialises in High profile Commercial Buildings Nationwide. Due to ongoing growth they are looking for a Mechanical / HVAC Shift Engineer to cover a large new build Commercial building in WC1.

    Mechanical Shift Engineer

    * Continental Shift Pattern (see shift pattern below)

    The Mechanical Shift Engineer – Continental Shift Hours

    The Mechanical Shift Engineer will be operating under the continental shift pattern Rotating 12-hour Shift Days and Nights. 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00 in the following pattern:

    4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off, 3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 off, and then repeat.

    Working 14 shifts a month on your rota you can really achieve the ultimate in work life balance. Loads of overtime and extra shifts available

    High Earning Potential

    We have calculated that just by covering the holidays of your opposite shift colleague you can guarantee a minimum of £8,500 in overtime for starters, and you know that there will be much more than that on top.

    Responsibilities of the Mechanical Shift Engineer

    * Planned Preventative Maintenance of all HVAC plant

    * Very high-tech modern building

    * Executing HVAC and Mechanical PPM’s

    * Ensuring that all statutory building compliance is upheld

    * Investigate and report on issues with the BMS systems.

    * Carry out daily checks on plant and equipment and report issues back to management.

    * Ability to communicate professionally with all levels and disciplines due to being a very customer facing role.

    About You as a Mechanical Shift Engineer

    * Qualified but experienced in building services maintenance

    * Mechanical HVAC skills

    * Experience with SHIFT WORK

    * Minor Mechanical repairs experience

    * Experienced in work on large scale building services applications.

    * Knowledge of BMS systems advantageous

    As the Mechanical Shift Engineer you would be a key part of the shift team, providing support to the technical service team covering the plant for the landlord services.
