As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, supporting both transactional and administrative processes. Your responsibilities will include:
Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate coding across the general ledger, cost centres, and projects
Monitoring the finance inbox and responding to internal and external queries
Preparing supplier payment runs and supporting timely payments
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Allocating incoming payments and maintaining accurate sales ledger records
Monitoring debtor balances and supporting credit control activities where required
Processing bank transactions and performing regular bank reconciliations
Supporting staff expenses and company credit card administration
Assisting with journals, accruals, and general finance processes
Providing general administrative support across the finance team
Supporting compliance processes where requiredThis is a varied and hands-on role, offering strong exposure across both accounts payable and receivable, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a broad understanding of finance operations within a busy and dynamic organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience within a finance or accounts administration role
Experience processing invoices or supporting accounts payable processes
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft ExcelWhat you'll get in return
