About the Role
As a senior member of the People & OD function, you will operate as a trusted advisor to Divisional leadership, playing a key role in driving workforce transformation and delivering strategic people priorities. You will partner with senior clinicians and operational leaders across Urgent & Emergency Care to support delivery against key performance, financial and cultural objectives. The role is highly autonomous and requires strong influencing capability at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
· Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to the divisional leadership team, providing expert advice, support and constructive challenge
· Lead on workforce planning, redesign and transformation, ensuring alignment with service demand and financial targets
· Support delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) through workforce initiatives, including reducing agency/bank usage, sickness absence and improving retention
· Drive improvements in culture, engagement and inclusion, embedding a high-performance and values-led environment
· Analyse and present workforce data, identifying trends and delivering actionable insights to senior stakeholders
· Lead and support complex change programmes within a fast-paced, operational environment
· Provide expert guidance on employee relations, organisational change and employment law
· Champion a just, learning and inclusive culture across the division
Essential Requirements
· Proven experience as an NHS HR Business Partner (Band 8a or equivalent) – applications without this will not be considered
· Experience supporting senior leaders within complex, unionised healthcare environments
· Strong track record of delivering workforce transformation, planning and organisational change
· Demonstrable experience contributing to cost improvement and workforce efficiency programmes
· In-depth knowledge of NHS workforce practices, employment law and HR policy
· Ability to analyse complex workforce data and influence decision-making at senior level
· Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
Desirable Requirements
· CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
· Experience within Urgent & Emergency Care or Acute Services
· Exposure to system-wide/ICS working
