How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    🌟 Make a Difference to Young People's Futures We are currently supporting a well-established Further Education provider in the Romford area with the appointment of a 14–16 Provision Lecturer.
    This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and student-focused educator who is passionate about supporting young learners, particularly those who may benefit from alternative approaches to education. You will play a key role in helping students develop academically, socially, and personally, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes and progress successfully into further education or employment.

    The Role
    Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to learners aged 14–16
    Teach and assess students across a range of entry-level and Level 1 programmes
    Create a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment
    Act as a personal tutor, providing academic and pastoral support
    Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records
    Develop schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment materials
    Support student retention, achievement, and progression
    Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and wider college staff
    Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour strategies The Ideal Candidate

    Degree or equivalent qualification
    Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
    QTS, QTLS, or working towards professional teaching status
    Experience teaching or supporting young people aged 14–16
    Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
    Experience within alternative provision, SEND, SEMH, EBD, or pre-16 education is highly desirable
    Ability to engage and motivate learners from a variety of backgrounds
    Excellent communication, organisational, and pastoral skills
    Strong understanding of safeguarding and learner wellbeing Why Apply?
