How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Sales Development Representative

    Your degree taught you how businesses work. This role teaches you how to win business.

    Salary: £32,000-£36,000 basic (OTE £50,000-£80,000+ on completion)

    Location: Northampton - Full-Time Office Based

    Type: Graduate Programme | Permanent

    THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL GRADUATE ROLE

    Most graduate jobs promise "development".

    This one gives you responsibility, pressure, competition, progression - and the chance to build a serious career in commercial sales from day one.

    We are looking for ambitious graduates who are commercially curious, naturally competitive, resilient under pressure, and energised by speaking to people.

    People who thrive in competitive environments.

    People who ask questions instead of waiting for answers.

    People who are motivated by targets, progression and achievement.

    You might have developed that mindset through:

    * Competitive sport

    * Student enterprise or societies

    * Politics or debating

    * Part-time sales or customer-facing work

    * Leadership positions

    * Building something yourself

    * Academic pressure and high achievement

    Whatever your background - you already know how to compete.

    Now you need the right arena.

    THE ROLE - SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE (SDR)

    This is a fast-paced business-to-business sales role within commercial finance.

    As an SDR, your role is to speak with UK business owners, identify opportunities, build relationships, and create qualified meetings and opportunities for the senior sales team.

    You will become the first point of contact for businesses looking for funding solutions including:

    * Asset finance

    * Business loans

    * Working capital finance

    * Equipment leasing

    * Growth funding

    You will learn how businesses operate across industries including manufacturing, construction, logistics, hospitality, technology, healthcare and professional services.

    No two conversations are the same.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * High-volume outbound prospecting via phone, email and LinkedIn

    * Speaking directly with business owners and senior decision makers

    * Understanding commercial challenges and identifying opportunities

    * Building and managing pipeline activity through CRM systems

    * Working closely with senior brokers and sales leaders

    * Developing into a full consultative sales professional

    WHO THIS ROLE SUITS

    This role is ideal for graduates in:

    * Business

    * Economics

    * Marketing

    * Management

    Or any degree where you developed communication, critical thinking and commercial awareness.

    This is not a role for someone seeking an analytical back-office career.

    We are not looking for people who only want spreadsheets.

    We are looking for people who enjoy:

    * Conversations

    * Competition

    * Influence

    * Problem solving

    * Persuasion

    * Fast-moving environments

    * Building relationships

    THE MINDSET WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    Resilience & Grit

    With true grit, you bounce back quickly from setbacks, staying focused on your goals with a mindset rooted in accountability and perseverance.

    You can articulate what keeps you going when things get difficult.

    Natural Connection

    Building authentic relationships by phone comes naturally to you - people enjoy speaking with you.

    Active Listening

    You listen to deeply understand challenges, uncover needs, and position meaningful solutions.

    Intellectual Curiosity

    You are curious about business, economics, current affairs and how companies grow.

    You may enjoy:

    * Politics

    * Debate

    * Podcasts

    * Business news

    * Entrepreneurship

    * Economics societies

    * Student enterprise

    * Competitive environments

    Competitive Edge

    You like improving.

    You like targets.

    You like winning.

    That may have come from sport, academics, leadership, business ventures, societies or work experience.

    WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

    * £32,000-£36,000 guaranteed base salary (OTE £60,000-£80,000 on completion - six figures within reach)

    * Structured graduate training programme

    * Daily mentorship from experienced commercial sales leaders

    * Clear progression into Business Development / Broker roles

    * High-performance culture with ambitious peers

    * Genuine long-term earning potential

    Many people in commercial finance sales earn six figures once experienced.

    BEFORE YOU APPLY

    Ask yourself this:

    When have you been most driven to succeed?

    What challenge pushed you harder than everyone around you?

    What motivates you when things become difficult?

    If you already know the answer - this could be the career for you.
