How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Operations Manager will lead the delivery of a complex portfolio of asset integrity, corrosion prevention, cathodic protection, pipeline infrastructure, and critical asset refurbishment projects within a live gas terminal environment. Working within a highly regulated Upper-Tier COMAH setting, the Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with stringent operational, environmental, and commercial requirements, whilst supporting a long-term investment programme focused on maintaining the reliability and resilience of the UK's gas transmission network throughout the RIIO-T3 period.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the successful delivery of multiple live and planned asset integrity and gas transmission projects across the terminal and associated infrastructure.

    * Manage long-term programmes of work focused on pipeline resilience, corrosion prevention, asset health, and critical infrastructure upgrades.

    * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, operational stakeholders, regulators, and supply chain partners.

    * Lead pre-contract, progress, and operational review meetings.

    * Oversee tendering, planning, mobilisation, and delivery of new workstreams.

    * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, commissioning, quality, and operational functions.

    * Ensure safe delivery of works within a live high-pressure gas environment, maintaining strict compliance with permit systems and operational controls.

    * Drive performance against programme, budget, quality, and contractual KPIs.

    * Manage commercial performance, forecasting, resource planning, and supply chain engagement.

    * Promote a strong SHEQ culture, ensuring compliance with COMAH regulations and industry standards.

    * Lead audits, inspections, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience delivering multiple contracts within the Gas Transmission, Energy Infrastructure, or High-Pressure Pipeline sectors.

    * Strong understanding of asset integrity, corrosion management, cathodic protection programmes, and pipeline infrastructure works.

    * Experience working within live operational environments, including COMAH-regulated facilities or other major hazard industries.

    * Demonstrable leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.

    * Strong knowledge of SHEQ management systems, regulatory compliance, and operational assurance processes.

    * Experience managing programme delivery, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

    * Commercial awareness with the ability to manage cost, programme, risk, and performance outcomes.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Experience delivering works for National Gas or comparable transmission network operators is advantageous.

    Qualifications

    * Industry-related Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Utilities, or Infrastructure Management.

    * Professional membership such as MCIOB, MICE, IEng, CEng, or equivalent desirable.

    * Valid CSCS Card.

    * SMSTS.

    * UK Driving Licence.

    What's on Offer

    Opportunity to lead delivery on one of the UK's most significant gas transmission and asset integrity programmes. Long-term involvement in a multi-year infrastructure investment programme. Excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development
