How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Take charge of a children’s home and shape the care of young people with complex needs - while gaining valuable leadership experience and a clear pathway to management. You’ll support vulnerable children, influence care plans and develop your leadership skills.

This is your chance to step up, guide a small team, and work closely with the Registered Manager - setting you on course to gain your Level 5 Diploma and move into a management position.

Flexibility is built in, so you can plan your week around life as well as work. You’ll be part of a social care provider that’s won awards for its impact and inclusion, where your ideas and individuality are celebrated.

    What you’ll do

Help shape the home’s culture by guiding staff and supporting children through tailored care plans. You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager, gaining hands-on experience in leadership and decision-making.

Every day you’ll support children with routines, behaviour management, and life skills - giving them stability and helping them reach their potential. You’ll also coordinate with schools and external agencies, ensuring each child’s needs are met.

    * Proven experience as a residential support worker in a children’s home

    * Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce

    * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred)

Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and a commitment to safeguarding will help you thrive in this position.
