How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What You'll Be Doing

    * Leading, mentoring, and developing a regional SHEQ team across multiple project locations.

    * Driving a proactive safety culture throughout operational, site-based, and delivery teams.

    * Supporting the safe delivery of clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipeline, network, and civil engineering works.

    * Developing and implementing SHEQ strategies aligned with business objectives and framework requirements.

    * Managing and continually improving ISO management systems (9001, 14001 & 45001).

    * Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programmes.

    * Ensuring compliance with UK SHEQ legislation, client requirements, and industry best practice.

    * Supporting internal and external audits while maintaining accreditations and certifications.

    * Delivering SHEQ training, coaching, and engagement initiatives to improve workforce awareness and performance.

    * Analysing SHEQ performance data and presenting key trends and improvement plans to senior stakeholders.

    * Supporting environmental, sustainability, and responsible business initiatives across the framework.

    * Building strong working relationships with operational teams, client representatives, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven SHEQ leadership experience within the water, utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors.

    * Experience working on water network, pipeline, wastewater, or regulated utility infrastructure projects.

    * Strong knowledge of construction and utility-related health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

    * NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).

    * Chartered IOSH status (CMIOSH) or working towards.

    * Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001.

    * Strong understanding of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation.

    * Experience supporting operational delivery across multiple sites and geographically dispersed teams.

    * A confident communicator capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and driving continuous improvement.

    Why Apply?

    * Opportunity to influence the successful delivery of a major Yorkshire water infrastructure programme.

    * Long-term framework work offering stability and future career development.

    * Exposure to a diverse range of clean water, wastewater, and civil engineering projects.

    * Supportive leadership team with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and employee development.

    * Competitive salary, benefits package, and clear progression opportunities.

    * Immediate interview process for suitable candidates.

    If you're a passionate SHEQ leader looking to make a tangible impact across Yorkshire's water infrastructure network and help shape the future of essential utility services, we'd love to hear from you
