How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

A leading developer-contractor is seeking an experienced Project or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their existing commercial team on a £50m mixed-use development comprising both a significant cut & carve refurbishment and new build construction elements in Central North London.

The project is currently in the early stages and involves the refurbishment and redevelopment of an existing structure alongside the construction of new-build residential, commercial and retail accommodation. This role will play a key part in both pre-contract activities and project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Project QS looking to step up, or an experienced Senior QS keen to work on a high-profile, technically challenging scheme that combines both refurbishment and new build construction.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Support the commercial management of the project from early-stage / pre-contract through delivery

    - Assist with pre-contract activities, including cost planning, procurement strategy and package preparation

    - Prepare cost plans, forecasts and commercial reports

    - Manage subcontractor procurement, package management and contract administration

    - Support the management of subcontractor accounts through to final account

    - Identify commercial risks and contribute towards mitigation strategies

    - Support commercial governance, reporting and compliance processes

    - Build strong working relationships with the wider project, consultant and client teams

    Requirements

    - Proven experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor

    - Strong background within mixed-use, refurbishment, cut & carve and/or new build projects

    - Experience across both pre-construction and delivery phases

    - Ability to manage complex subcontract packages within constrained refurbishment environments

    - Strong commercial awareness, communication and negotiation skills

    - Previous experience working for a main contractor or developer-contractor preferred

    - Available for either a permanent or freelance engagement

    Why Apply?

    - Opportunity to work on a £50m mixed-use development combining cut & carve refurbishment and new build construction in Central North London

    - Available on either a permanent basis (£85,(Apply online only)-£100,(Apply online only) + package) or contract basis (£450-£500 per day Outside IR35)

    - Join the project at an early stage with genuine influence over commercial strategy and project setup

    - Long-term opportunity with strong future prospects

    - Strong support from an established and experienced commercial team

    - Opportunity to work for a highly respected developer-contractor with a strong pipeline of future projects
