How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Service Advisor

    Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

    Interaction Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established automotive business in Peterborough to recruit an experienced and customer-focused Service Advisor.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a professional individual who enjoys delivering exceptional customer service, managing vehicle service bookings, and acting as the key link between customers and the workshop team.

    The Role

    As a Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from booking through to vehicle collection. You will work closely with technicians and workshop controllers to keep customers informed, manage expectations, and ensure work is completed efficiently.

    The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident communicating with customers in a fast-paced automotive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Welcoming customers and managing service and repair enquiries
    Booking vehicles into the workshop for servicing, maintenance, and repairs
    Liaising between customers and technicians regarding vehicle requirements
    Providing service updates and communicating any additional work required
    Preparing estimates, quotations, and invoices
    Managing customer expectations and ensuring a high standard of service throughout
    Processing job cards and maintaining accurate records on internal systems
    Coordinating vehicle collections and handovers
    Handling customer queries and resolving issues professionally
    Supporting the wider aftersales team to achieve departmental targets

    Skills & Experience Required

    Previous experience as a Service Advisor or within an automotive customer service role
    Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
    Experience using dealer management systems (DMS) is advantageous
    Confident working in a busy and target-driven environment
    Strong administrative and IT skills
    Full UK Driving Licence preferred
