How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Parts Advisor

    Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

    Interaction Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of our established client for a Parts Advisor to join their busy and professional team based in Peterborough.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused individual with experience in automotive parts, stock control, or dealership environments who is looking to join a reputable business offering long-term stability and career development.

    The Role

    As a Parts Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient supply of vehicle parts to both internal departments and external customers. You will be responsible for identifying parts requirements, processing orders, managing stock levels, and delivering excellent customer service at all times.

    Working within a fast-paced automotive environment, you will liaise with technicians, suppliers, and customers to ensure parts are sourced accurately and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities

    Identifying and supplying vehicle parts for workshop and retail customers
    Processing parts orders via phone, email, and in person
    Managing goods-in procedures and stock control activities
    Checking deliveries and ensuring stock accuracy
    Maintaining accurate inventory records and updating internal systems
    Liaising with suppliers regarding availability, pricing, and deliveries
    Supporting the workshop team with parts requirements
    Processing customer enquiries and providing quotations
    Ensuring excellent levels of customer service are maintained
    Assisting with stock takes and inventory audits

    Skills & Experience Required

    Previous experience within an automotive Parts Advisor, Parts Assistant, or similar role
    Knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle components
    Strong customer service and communication skills
    Good organisational and administrative abilities
    Experience using computerised stock control or dealer management systems
    Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and prioritise workload
    Strong attention to detail and accuracy
