How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    GSL Education London Branch is seeking a passionate and experienced Geography Teacher to join a thriving girls' secondary school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Geography Teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality lessons and inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of the world around them.

    Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:

    Plan and deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
    Inspire students to develop a passion for Geography and global issues.
    Monitor, assess, and track student progress to ensure positive outcomes.
    Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
    Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
    Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the Geography curriculum.
    Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and parents' evenings.

    Requirements for the Geography Teacher:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
    Previous experience working as a Geography Teacher in a secondary school setting.
    Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum.
    Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
    Commitment to raising achievement and promoting student success.
    A positive, professional, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
