How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lab Technician (Concrete / Aggregates)

    Aberdeen

    Do you have experience within the concrete, aggregates, quarrying, or construction materials industry and are looking to join a well-established company offering long-term career development and specialist training?

    On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a leading business within the quarrying and aggregates sector, where you will receive full training on specialist laboratory testing procedures and have the chance to significantly increase your earnings through enhanced overtime opportunities.

    The company are well known for their high-quality products, strong reputation within the industry, and continued investment in staff training and progression. Due to ongoing growth, they are now looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to join their modern testing facility in Aberdeen.

    This role would suit somebody with a background in concrete, aggregates, asphalt, quarrying, construction materials, or a broader testing/sampling environment who is looking to build a long-term career within a stable and growing business.

    The Role:

    Carrying out sampling and laboratory testing on construction materials
    Full training provided on specialist lab procedures and equipment
    Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
    Ongoing training, development, and progression opportunitiesThe Candidate:

    Experience within aggregates, concrete, asphalt, quarrying, construction materials, or a testing/sampling background
