How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Assembly Technician – Robot Build (Mechanical) – Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
    Full Training Provided | Build Robots. Build Your Career.
    * Do you enjoy working with your hands?
    * Want to help build a company — not just products?
    * Looking for a career, not just another job?
    * Fancy building robots?
    If that sounds like you, keep reading.
    About Us
    We are transforming warehouse operations through cutting-edge robotics and real-time inventory technology. Our autonomous robots help businesses understand stock conditions in real time, changing the way warehouses operate around the world.
    With sites in Wallingford, Oxfordshire and Tennessee, USA, our UK facility is where our robots are designed and built. We’re growing quickly and have a unique culture. We’re looking for people who want to help build a success story, not simply turn up and clock in. That means bringing energy, ideas, initiative, and a willingness to do what’s needed. In return, we’ll invest in your development and provide training, rewards and job enrichment
    The Role – What You’ll Be Doing
    As an Assembly Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in the mechanical build of our robots, working alongside a team of specialists in a workshop environment.
    This is not a repetitive production-line role — you’ll take ownership of large and complex assemblies and see your work contribute directly to a finished robot.
    You’ll be:
    * Mechanically assembling robotic systems and sub-assemblies
    * Following computer-based build instructions and sequences
    * Working with nuts, bolts, connectors, fabricated parts, and mechanical components
    * Using hand tools, drivers, and torque wrenches
    * Working independently on complex builds while collaborating with a skilled team
    * Helping identify smarter, better ways of working as we scale
    Typically, an assembly takes around a day, although we’re growing rapidly and evolving all the time.
    Who We’re Looking For
    Full Training Provided - You don’t need robotics experience. We’ll provide training — but you should already have some confidence with practical, hands-on work, mechanical assembly techniques, or using tools safely.
    For us, mindset matters more than background.
    Some of our technicians have come from high-performance environments such as motorsport and F1, bringing a strong “get it done” mentality and focus on quality and deadlines.
    But we’re equally keen to hear from people in:
    * Mechanical assembly
    * Automotive or motorsport
    * Manufacturing or automation
    * Maintenance and engineering
    * Service technician roles
    * Skilled trades or practical hands-on work
    * Early-career candidates looking for a long-term opportunity
    If you’ve used hand or power tools in your work and enjoy building things properly, we encourage you to apply.
    What Success Looks Like Here
    We’re looking for people who can demonstrate:
    ✔ Initiative and problem-solving
    ✔ A strong work ethic and drive to succeed
    ✔ Pride in finishing things properly and to a high standard
    ✔ Flexibility when needed in a fast-growing environment
    ✔ Enthusiasm for technology and building an exciting product
    ✔ A desire to contribute ideas and improve how things are done
    This Role May Not Suit You If…
    ✘ You’re looking for a purely transactional 9–5 assembly role
    ✘ You prefer minimal ownership or accountability
    ✘ You’re uncomfortable in a fast-moving, growing business environment
    What You’ll Get
    * Mon to Friday day shift, but discretionary working is expected
    * Full training provided
    * Salary above the market rate
    * Health insurance
    * Free food on site
    * Real job satisfaction building advanced robotic systems
    * The opportunity to grow with a scaling technology business
    How to Apply
    We value attention to detail, initiative, and people who look for ways to improve things.
    As part of your application, please include the word “TONTO” in a short cover letter (or within your CV).
    We’d also like you to include a brief example (a couple of lines is enough) of something you improved, streamlined, or innovated in a previous role or day-to-day work.
    We’re more interested in how you think and approach problems than in having the “perfect” background.
    If this sounds like the sort of opportunity you’ve been looking for — apply now
