How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    This is an opportunity to become a trusted advisor to businesses across Birmingham and the Midlands, helping clients identify technology challenges and implement solutions that support growth and operational success.

    As a Business Development Manager, you will focus on generating new business opportunities, managing a robust sales pipeline, and developing long-term relationships with clients. You will utilise a range of business development activities including cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking events, and targeted marketing campaigns to drive growth.

    Previous account management experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The business is seeking ambitious individuals with a strong work ethic, resilience, and a passion for both sales and technology.

    Key Responsibilities

    Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn engagement, and networking activities.
    Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
    Identify, qualify, and convert prospective clients.
    Develop relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
    Conduct consultative meetings to understand business challenges and requirements.
    Recommend tailored IT solutions across cyber security, cloud services, infrastructure, networking, and business continuity.
    Maintain accurate CRM records and monitor sales performance.
    Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new customers.About You

    Previous experience within B2B sales, business development, lead generation, or account management.
    Comfortable conducting proactive outbound sales activities and cold calling.
    Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    Self-motivated, target-driven, and commercially focused.
    Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
    Experience using CRM platforms and sales tools.
